Magic Loop

I got "book" about the magic loop method. I put book in quotes because to me less then 20 pages you really can't call a book and it was soft cover too. Anyway, I have to say I LOVE this method and glad I went out and bought a size 2 & 0 needle with a 47" cord for magic loop. I was even successful in transferring my current sock project to a magic loop. Those ladders were driving me nuts and on the magic loop I was able to try on my sock!!

Fiberphile's July Sock Club Yarn!

Here is the first yarn of the first Fiberphile Sock Yarn Club!! I decided to get the Cashmere Merino one. It came in a lovely white box with the following quote on top:
Thou fair-haired angel of the evening...speak silcence with thy glimmering eyes,
And wash the dusk with silver. - William Blake

It's name is Stardust and I love it! I can't wait to see what the other 2 months will bring.

Hemlock Ring Blanket - WIP

Started Jul 22/09 Finished

I’m going to start it with size 10 DPN because that is what I have but move to 10.5 circular as soon as I can. I had issues with row 14 but its just doing the 9 stitches into the really long YO. Moved to circular at row 16.

Jul 31/09 - I'm on row 37 now

Nov 30/09 I'm working on the fan & feather part of the pattern. I lost the stitch marker at one point so I'm not sure how the pattern will work.

Needles: Size 10 dpn, size 10.5 circular

Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Kettle Dyed in Eggplant

Tea Treats - WIP

Started Jul 5/09 Finished

I haven't done much more then this for this project. The problem is that I need to cut out some circles out of cardboard and haven't gotten around to do it yet.

Needles: Size 6

Yarn: Knit Picks Crayon in Teddy, Creme Brulee, Red, Cashew, Flamingo and white

Fake Spanish Lace Shawl

Started Jun 28/09 Finished Jul 22/09

This was an easy knit. It only took me so long because I had 4 other projects going. I only wish I had gotten 2 skeins of the Pantanal because its a small shawl with 280 yards. It's going to go to my youngest since she wanted a purple shawl. I want to get 2 skeins and do this pattern again.
Needles: Size 9 circular
Yarn: The Sanguine Gryphon Traveller in Pantanal

Lace Scarf

Started Jun 26/09 Finished Jul 20/09

My first lace project! It’s really easy. I wrote out the 4 repeat lines on a 3x5 card. It only took this long because I had 4 other projects I’m working on. I ended up finishing the scarf before the skein of yarn ran out. It's really long!
Needles: Size 10
Yarn: Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash (turquoise) I got this from Tempe Yarn & Fiber in Tempe, AZ It's a great shop and I would recommend that you stop by there if you get a chance!

O's Capelet

Started Jul 2/09 Finished Jul 17/09

I won some yarn on a knitting blog. I picked the pink one for something for my oldest daughter. She loves pink! She also pick the pattern. It was a pretty easy knit.

There seems to be a lot of yarn left over so I’m not sure I used the 340 - 380 yards the pattern says. It was nice and easy and my daughter loves it!

Needles: Size 10 circular

Yarn: Min The Weaver Rocking Stockings in A Rose By Any Other Name

Pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lace-capelet

Easy Sock

Started Apr 13/09 Finished Jul 7/09

Going to do my first pair of socks! Wish me luck.

Jul 2/09 - almost to the toe

Finished! I got tired of the pattern and the yarn. It’s only going to be one sock. It’s an easy pattern but lots of math involved to remember the number of rows for the second sock. It should have been longer too but again I was getting tired of working on it.

Needles: Size 2
Yarn: Patons Kroy Socks 4 Ply in Winter Eclipse

Ice Cream Cones

Started Jun 22/09 Finished Jul 4/09

It only took a few hours to make one. I still have 2 more to make. You can make 2 different bottoms and 3 different tops.

Jun 28/09 Made the second one. One left for me!

Needles: Size 6 dpn

Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in chocolate, Pink Cheeks, Snickerdoodle and Hyacinth

Pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/scooped

Pink Lace Wrap

Started May 21/09 Finished Jun 26/09

CO about 120 instead of the 52. I had issues and had to rip parts of this shawl a couple of times already. I'm glad I casted on more stitches otherwise it would have been too small for me.

Since I casted on double the stitches, I could do the ruffle on it.

This was an easy pattern but took a long time to stockinette 4 feet!

Needles: Size 10
Yarn: The Sanguine Gryphon Sappho in Shadow of Roses

First Shawl

Started Jun 2/09 Finished Jun 21/09

I’m using size 7 needles because I don’t have size 8. My first shawl! This was so neat after I blocked it. I thought I was starting at the bottom of the shawl but it turned out it was the middle of the top. I really like the cast off for this shawl too.

Needles: Size 7 dpn and then size 7 circulars
Yarn: Fiberphile Yarns & Hand-Dyed Fibers Mosaic Merino/Nylon Sock in Amazonia

B's Breakfast

Started May 13/09 Finished May 15/09

I just made the breakfast items for my girls to play with.

I don’t know if its the needle or yarn but I had to really cut down the size of the bacon (cast on 30 and only knitted about 8 rows). I also decided to stuff the sausage (its only about 10 rows rather then the 20).
Needles: Size 6
Yarn: Knit Picks Crayon in Creme Brulee, Flamingo, Cashew, Buttermilk and white

Sushi

Started May 7/09 Finished May 8/09

This is quite a easy & fun project. I ended up making a set for the lady that owns the local sushi place! I know I took a picture of it but I can't find it right now. I even went in to the grocery store to get one of those plastic sushi trays for it.
To get sushi size you need fingering weight and size 2 needles. I had the needles but didn't want to go and try to find fingering yarn the right colors. You really use a small amount of yarn.
Needles: Size 6
Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Evergreen, Pink Cheeks, Daffodil, Avocado and white

Doughnut

Started Apr 24/09 Finished Apr 25/09

I tried to do a long tail cast on for this. I did the thumb long tail cast on. I kept losing stitches for some reason with this doughnut. The big brown one was with size 6 needles and worsted weight.
Needles: Size 2 & 6 dpn
Yarn: Stitchnpretty in Princess, Fiberphile Yarns & Hand-Dyed Fibers Eclipse Super Squish Sock in Blackberry, Fiberphile Yarns & Hand-Dyed Fibers Mosaic Merino/Nylon Sock in Amazonia, Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Chocolate

Pokeball Hat

Started Apr 21/09 Finished Apr 23/09

It was pretty hard to get 100 stitches on the 16” circular needle. This is my first time using a circular needle. I also had to use the DPNs at the end since I couldn’t keep the stitches from stretching.

May 7/09 I made another one for the other daughter. I tried to switch yarns and create the ball part rather then stitch it in afterwards. It ended up smaller and not quite round.
Needles: Size 6 dpn and circular 16"
Yarn: Knit Picks Shine Worsted in Ebony, Serrano and cream
