These will be Christmas presents for hubby. So far its not too bad. The pattern called for size 8 but I could only get the gauge with size 6 needles. I added 5 knitted rows before closing in the slipper. Hubby has a big foot.

Jul 25/10 - Finished one slipper!

Finished Second Yarn

This was fiber that came with my second spindle. I can see the danger of underspinning since I had a section of it just break while skeining it. Getting better!

Finished First Yarn

I think I'm spinning a bit to tight but not bad for my first try!

My Second Yarn!

This is from the roving that came with the square spindle. I'm starting to get the hang of spinning. I'm going to try to do an hour or so each day.

My First Drop Spindle Finally Arrived

I bought this on Jul 25th and it finally arrived. It's called the Trixie and I got it from Heavenly Handspinning Spindles and Wheels.

The Trixie's spindle shaft is made of oak and is about 12 inches in length and 3/8 in diameter. The whorl is made of mahogany and is about 3 inches in diameter. Trixie is hand rubbed in Danish oil and weighs approximately 1.6 ounces.
