Summary of Kitting & Spinning 2011!

Well, as always lots of yarn & fiber were bought in 2011. I'm still trying to figure out what fibers I like (that is my excuse for the fiber buys). I know I don't really care for Romney, corriedale or Wensleydale. I really like silk and BME's (Bee Mice Elf) merino. I also like SW BFL & SW merino. I'm okay with polworth, Falkland & 100% merino.

I am getting more projects done. I made 49 items in 2011. They are:

4 cardigan
5 neckwarmers
1 glove
6 socks
7 hats
2 scarves
9 shawls
1 leg warmers
1 mitt
1 shrug
1 baby booties
1 slipper
10 snowmen

I'm amazed that I made 4 caridgans. I think 2011 was the first year I tried a cardigan. As you can tell from my list. I like to knit socks and shawls. Going back to work allowed me to wear those shawls out. My goal for 2012 is to keep knitting and try some new items and maybe some more color work. Here are some pictures of the projects of 2011.

I have seen a big improvement on my spinning in 2011. I've managed to get fingering weight with my yarns. I spun 6 yarns in 2011 and I even managed to knit with one of my handspun yarns! Joining Tour De Fleece really helped me in yarn production. Nothing like spinning daily for a few weeks to make you focus on spinning. My goals for 2012 is to spin some of my batts, spin some of the nicer fibers (its hard because I still feel that I'm not good enough to work on the nice stuff) and see if I can spin finer then fingering weight. Here are some of the yarns I spun in 2011.
