Feb 26/11 - I was doing so good on the pattern but messed up 1/2 way through the 2nd time of Chart B. It looks okay but I wish the pattern worked till the end.

Gordian Knots & Stripey Yarns!

I do need to update some of the project pictures. I haven't been knitting for about a week since I have been spending my time untangling yarn. Yes, I like to untangle yarn. Weird I know! What I love is Sanguine Gryphon will sell tangled yarn rather then spend time untangling it. Trust me these yarns can take any where from a couple of hours to 3 days to untangle! These Gordian Knots sell for about $10/skein where if they weren't tangle they would go for $25-28/skein. I got 2 Gordian Knots last time they were available. They aren't available all the time (last time was in Oct 2010). Here are a couple of pictures of them:

The yarn on the far left was to show that its a match to the tangled one next to it. By the way, most of the time the yarn isn't tagged with its name so you have to guess at what the name of the color is.

I've also been obessed with self stripping yarn. I got some from a new shop Culture Pop on Etsy. I can't wait to see how they knit up and they are 80% Merino, 10% Nylon, 10% Cashmere!! The other ones I'm knitting right now are 100% Merino or 75% Wool & 25% Nylon.

Purple Bee Cardigan - DONE!

Started Jul 29/10 Finished Jan 29/11

My youngest wanted a purple cardigan. This is the back starting at the bottom. This pattern isn't difficult but it would have been nice if the decrease pattern was shown instead of just saying "decrease at end" or "decrease at beginning of each row". Aug 21 - started the pattern and was having problems with the YF which is suppose to be yarn forward. It didn't make sense until I found on the Internet that for some of the British patterns a YF followed by a K is a YO. So the pattern is suppose to go [k2, YO, skpo, K4] and the other part is suppose to be [k2tog, YO, K1, YO, skpo, k3] Aug 31/10 - decreasing should be on at beginning & end of pattern 1) k2tog, k, k2tog 2) p2tog, p, p2tog 3) k2tog k2, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k4 k2tog 4) p2tog, p, p2tog 5) k2tog, yo, k1, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k3 k2tog 6) p2tog, p, p2tog 7) k2tog, k, k2tog 8) p2tog, p, p2tog 9) k2tog, k3 k2, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k4 k2tog 10) p2tog, p, p2tog 11) k2tog, k1 k2tog, yo, k1, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k3 k2tog

To shape armholes on the back: 1) k, (at last 2 stitches) k2tog 2) p, (at last 2 stitches) p2tog 3) k3 k2, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k4 k2tog 4) p, p2tog 5) k2 k2tog, yo, k1, yo sl1, k1, psso, k3 ssk 6) p, (at last 2 stitches) p2tog 7) k, (at last 2 stitches) k2tog 8) p, (at last 2 stitches) p2tog 9) k1 k2, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k4 k2tog 10) p, p2tog 11) k2tog, yo, k1, yo sl1, k1, psso, k3 ssk

To shape armholes on left side:

1) p, (at last 2 stitches) p2tog 2) k2tog, k5 k2, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k4 3) p, (at last 2 stitches) p2tog 4) k2tog, k3 k2tog, yo, k1, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k3 5) p, (at last 2 stitches) p2tog 6) k2tog, k 7) p, (at last 2 stitches) p2tog 8) k2tog, k5 k2, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k4 9) p, (at last 2 stitches) p2tog

Dec 10/10 - finished the 3 pieces and sew the pieces together! I decided to pick up stitches at the arm instead of knitting the sleeves seperately and then sewing them on. I was a little off on the 2 front pieces already. Jan 25/11 - Instead of knitting button holes (never done it and worried that it won’t match), I will be knitting 2 plan bands on the side. If she wants buttons, I will add snap on ones later. Jan 29/11 - Done all the knitting. Need to block it and added the snap buttons.
