Jan 22/17 - I did 17 more rounds after the thumb gusset.  I added 4 row of knit before ribbing on thumb (total of 5).

This project has a due date of Aug 15/11.

Jul 15/11 - Instructions don’t have the # of cast on so I counted the stitches in the 1st row instructions. Will cast on 36 stitches.

Jul 17/11 - It’s not looking right so will redo. Cast on 45 stitches and try this pattern instead:

row 1,2 & 4 P2 (K4,P2,K1,P2) repeat 4x K4, P2, K1
row 3 P3 (sl 2 on dpn back, k2, k2 on dpn, p2,k1,p2) repeat 4x cable 2, p2, k1

I repeated the 4 rows 8 times. Then knitted 4 rows. Did a thumb increase:
K7, M1R, K1, M1L, K rest of row
K
K7, M1R, K3, M1L, K rest of row
K
Continue until you have increased 13 stitches. Put 13 stitches on waste yarn.

Continue knitting until 3 1/2” from thumb, or desired length.
Decrease rows -- -K6, K2tog- K , -K5, K2tog-, continue until K1, K2 tog, Decrease until only 8 st left.

Thumb -- Put 13 sts on needles and pick up 4 stitches for a total of 17.
Decrease K2, K2tog, next row knit plain, third row K1, K2tog. Thread through remaining stitches.

Jul 19/11 - finished the first mitt!
