Mrs. F's Christmas Scarf - DONE!

Started Oct 5/09 Finished Oct 23/09

I don't have size 9 needles so I'm doing this pattern in size 10 needles. I casted on 15 stitches and modified the pattern because I don't have much yarn and rather have it longer then wider.

Needles: Size 10 straight

Yarn: Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in Fedora

Ms. J's Christmas Scarf - DONE!

Started Oct 2/09 Finished Oct 5/09

Another Christmas gift scarf for the girls' teachers. Since I only have 75 yards, I decided to only cast on 14 stitches so the repeat in the middle is for 10x.

Needles: Size 13 straight

Yarn: Knit Picks Shine Worsted in Caution

Green Scarf - DONE!

Started Sept 26/09 Finished Oct 4/09

Another Christmas gift. Rather then knit 3 scarves with the same pattern, I decided to knit 3 different patterns. This is just a 3 rows. I finished this while waiting at the ER for 6 hours. My oldest was sick and it took that long at the ER on Sunday!

Needles: Size 8 straight

Christmas Scarf - DONE!

Started Sept 10/09 Finished Oct 1/09

This is a Christmas scarf not because of the color but because they will a gifts for one of my daughters' teacher. Don't have size 9 needles so doing this with size 10. This is an easy pattern but you can't knit back if you make a mistake. I've had to frog it and start again after the 2nd row of mistakes.

Sept 15/09 Had to frog this scarf 2 more times. The pattern is a 2 row repeat but with all the yarn overs, if you make a mistake there is no just knitting back or taking out a row or 2. You have to frog the whole thing and start over. Grrr!

Needles: Size 10 dpn

Yarn: Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in Pomegranate

My First Toe Up - DONE!

Started Aug 2/09 Finished Sept 25/09

Fiberphile has KAL (knit a long) and she said any pattern from Socks from the Toe Up by Wendy Johnson. I just got that book from Amazon.com not too long a go. I decided to do the Lacy Rib Socks http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lacy-ribs-socks. They will be in Fiberphile Yarns & Hand-Dyed Fibers Mosaic Super Squish Sock's Dark Bloom. I finally managed to do the Turkish cast-on last night after 4 tries. Watching someone do it on You-tube with needles in the left hand helped me a lot (the book shows it with the needles in the right hand). I figured out that I knit left handed continental method rather then right handed English Method.

So far this is a nice and easy lace pattern!

Aug 18/09 Started the gusset!
Aug 20/09 Finished the heel, its not pretty. I’m glad I did the Silver Sock class before this so I knew what I was doing wrong at the heel. I messed up and the count wasn't working but I knew that I should be picking up the side so I just did it. I ended up with way too many stitches some how so I had to decrease which is why it doesn't look at all like it should.

Aug 30/09 Finished the first sock!
I did a much nicer job of the heel on the second sock. It always take me one try of a pattern to figure out the kinks. I would have finished quicker if I didn't try to work on 5 projects at a time.
Needles: Size 0 47" circular needle

Christmas Hat - DONE!

Started Sept 2/09 Finished Sept 10/09

It's time for Christmas knitting. This hat will be for our neighbor. She wanted a blue hat. I casted on only 56 stitches rather then the 72 (it was way too big). I am doing it on size 10 since I don't have size 10 dpns. I ended up finishing it with a magic loop.

Needles: Size 10

Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in 135 Spice
